NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS (NAMI)

A national nonprofit that sponsors advocacy. Offers support groups and classes.

MENTAL HEALTH KOKUA

Offers community-based services like counseling, psycho-social rehabilitation, and homeless outreach.

Mental Health America of Hawaii

An organization that offers support, strives to prevent bullying, and works in advocacy. Check out their Pono Youth Program!

Pono Youth

Pono Youth Program aims to reduce risk and cultivate resilience in young people in Hawaii. It targets youth from populations including: Native Hawaiian youth, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) youth, youth with special needs, foster and former-foster youth, young mental health consumers, adjudicated youth, and rural youth.

Help Your Keiki

A tool that profiles common problems and evidence-based solutions to help children and teenagers.

Kids Hurt Too Hawaii

Focuses on children, ages 3-19, who have lost a parent through death, divorce, abandonment, incarceration, deployment, or being in foster care. Peer support groups and workshops are offered.

Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i

Youth are taught key skills to help them give and get respect in their relationships: controlling anger, problem solving, negotiating and compromising, being assertive, fighting fair, understanding, listening, and being a role model.

Hawaii Government Resources

Includes ways to get access to family guidance centers and access to other resources for children.
